About VD Leegte metaal
The foundations for what is now VD Leegte Metaal were laid in 1953 with the establishment of ‘Metaal industrie en Constructiewerkplaats P. van der Leegte’. The first company of the VDL Groep and as a progressive supplier specialising in heavy construction work and complex welding assemblies. And we are proud of that.
From the Brainport region, we work together on the world of tomorrow. You’ll find our assemblies in the Five Worlds of VDL Groep; HIGHTECH, MOBILITY, FOODTECH, INFRATECH and ENERGY & SUSTAINABILITY. We are strong in series supply to the largest manufacturers nationally and internationally.
We do this from our factory of the future: efficient, sustainable, highly automated and, above all, with our passionate skilled professionals!
EFFICIENT, together with the customer we carry out intensive feasibility studies to create the best production process for their products. We asses the required production processes first in terms of quality and then in terms of cost efficiency. In doing so, we strive for seamless transitions between our processes, which we increasingly monitor with all kinds of data.
Because of this approach and SUSTAINABLE factory, among other things, our CO2 footprint is lower. We have used numerous ‘green’ technologies to do the right thing for our environment, susch as solar panels, heat pumps, underfloor heating (also in the factory hall) and welding fume extraction form which as much energy as possible is reused.
To achieve this, we have to work SMART and need to be committed to further automation of our factory. This is reflected not only in our investments in high-end machines, but also in our software. Software that enables our machines to communicate with each other trough a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), exchange more and more data in real time, more and more DATADRIVEN.
This is necessary because we want to grow and strengthen our position in complex metal systems. But also to guarantee production capacity in an ever-shrinking labour market. That is why we operate sustainable and smart. That way, we remain competitive at national and international level. Curious?
