VD Leegte Metaal is the cornerstone of the VDL Groep and progressive supplier of complex steel assemblies. With our 160 professionals, we operate mainly in the metal industry.

The modern machine park is extensively automated and consists of four laser cutting machines (maximum size 3.000mm), eight press brakes, two of which are equipped with bending robots (maximum bending capacity of 250 tonnes, size 4.300mm), 25 hydraulic and excenter presses (maximum capacity excenter 450 tonnes and hydraulic 800 tonnes) and 25 robotic welding cells, eight of which can move on a rail. VD Leegte Metaal also has its own tool shop and separate logistics & assembly departments.
VD Leegte Metaal has an extensie clientele and supplies both in sereies and on a project base. Clients include OEMs for agricultural equipment, stairlifts, semi-trailer construction, internal transport equipment, the Dutch railwaus, baggage handling systems, network masts and many others. Depending on the client's whiches, VD Leegte Metaal develops projects with the support of, among others, the 3D design programme Solid Works.
VD Leegte Metaal has become a renowned international progressive supplier. We are therefor very proud of the lasting relationships we have built with clients througout the past 70-years. In order to maintain these relationships and welcome new clients, we hold the NEN-EN-ISO-9001 (quality management system), NEN-EN-ISO 14001 (environmental management system), and the NEN-EN 1090 EXC 3 standard.
The NEN-EN-ISO 3834 enables VD Leegte Metaal to weld safety-critical parts. The NEN-EN 1090 EXC 3 enables VD Leegte Metaal to manufacture and CE mark steel and aluminum structural components.
VD Leegte Metaal is also vertified as an Approved Training Company.
